  • Hello and Question

    Hi Members,

I am happy to be a member of this group. There seems to be a lot of good information in your forums. As the proud new owner of an absolutely cherry 1987 Chevy Chevette 2 door sedan, it would seem that the 60 degree GM V-6family is where I need to look for an engine that will be a relatively easy swap into this vehicle.

So here are a few questions from someone who admittedly knows little to nothing about these engines. Will either the 3.5 L or 3.9 L engines fit into my car without front suspension modifications? Are there any rear wheel drive transmissions that can be used with either of these engines? If not, is it correct to assume that a 3.4/3.5 L hybrid is the best way to go to make horsepower and use the 60 degree V-6 in the Chevette.

I thank you in advance for your help with these newbie questions.

    Best Regards,

    David
