  • New from PA!!

HEY GUYS!!! Whats up, my name is Luis and a few days ago I was searching for a new project car around craigslist.org and I came across a car that caught my eye. Ever since I turned 21 Ive been a die hard DSM kinda guy. My first car was a 94 Eagle Talon. I swapped the engine out with a 4G63T (turbo motor) and got that SOB to about 300hp. But I wanted faster and AWD. So I sold that car and got me a 92 GSX and got that SOB to 615hp. But I was getting sick and tired of the car always breaking. I went ahead and sold that car, put half the money towards my house and the other half to buy a 98 Eclipse GS. I installed a turbo kit on that, kept the boost low (stock internals) never got the chance to dyno it. My guess is about 200hp at 10psi. Now Im getting a little sick and tired with dealing with DSMs so when I saw this 89 Chevy Beretta GTU, I had to go look at it.

When I met up to look at it, I instantly fell in love with the car. The stance is aggressive, the car is ahead of its time w/ the digital dash and shift light. Its a 5 speed so thats a plus. So I asked how much?? I bought this SOB for 900 bucks!! :headbanger:

So I found this site and I hope to learn alot. My real concern is, where are the "How Tos?" Are there any parts from other year Berettas that are interchangable?? Is it possible to replace the digital dash with a mechanical one? IDK how much longer the dash will last. Thats just a few questions, Im going to have a crap load more. But Im going to just search around the site to see if I can answer my own questions....ha ha ha. Cause I know there are some sites out there that hate it when people dont use the search function.. Oh well, I look forward to learning alot and hopefully be a "Chevy Guy"....lol.

    Luis.

    Here are some pics...

I hope to learn alot on this site, and hope to find answers to many of my questions.

Welcome You will find this board isn't as fast paced as a lot of the import boards and the like (or www.therangerstation.com I am on for my truck- bunch of post whores there that post a whole page of posts in a day in each section easily....), but you will find a lot of knowledgeable people here. Not a bad looking specimen of GTU, by the way, and again, welcome to the family The how to's you will find on the left side of the screen Motor Articles and In-Depth Articles. There is tons of good content on this site, but sometimes it's buried since this site has been around for a few years.

Welcome. I've been busier than usual at work and at home, so I am lacking on my visiting of the site. Which sucks, because I now have so many posts to go through...

Anyway, as a previous Beretta owner, I have always been fond of the GTUs. As far as info specific to the Beretta (digital dash and the like), check out www.Beretta.net . Here we are for the most part strictly engines. And as Jon stated, articles can be found on the left side links. There is still some stuff that I haven't converted over to the new format (its only been a year, I mean geez...), so if you can't find something, check out the "Old Articles" link and dig around in there.
