  • Time for an update, I did the RevMax converter and I'm much happier with the way it stalls, I may have to lessen the line pressure so I don't chirp 2nd gear so much... LOL or pull a shim out of the accumulator. I'm also using Alto clutches on the 2nd clutch pack as well as 4th, Replaced my 4th hub as well since the clutches marked it up and left grooves in it. Debated installing my Raybestos Z-pak that I have for 3rd sitting in my garage but I think I'll save it...

    I also finally installed a drain plug on my 4t60e... About friken time with how often I have this apart!



    Also installed the steering wheel from my 95



    And moved over the tunes and installed my old XM from my 95 since the amps were already bolted to the seat. All Boston Acoustics speakers and the two JL subs.





    Test fitted the new Hoosiers I have for this upcoming weekend... I hope these are better than the shitty BFGoodrich DR's I had.




    And the most recent update... Full suspension overhaul.

    Using J-body Koni Inserts in my strut housings... Had to have Bushings made to center them at the top.










    For those who don't know, there are three points on the tube of the strut at the top that are used to center it (I'll get pics of it)... that's why there is a large gap between the tube and the bushing in that last photo.


    This shit is getting serious...











    Front J-body Inserts waiting for the struts to dry, and Koni Adjustable Saab 900 Rear shocks. Waiting for me to ream the upper mounts and also get my $9 shocks from Rock auto to steal the lower brackets from. I hope to have all of this installed by this weekend since I'm going to Epping for Chevy Fest again. I want to test the new trans clutches, new torque converter, and now the new stiffer rebound suspension. I will also be putting in more spring rubbers in the rear to try and lessen squat more... but I'll only do that if I still notice a lot after adjusting the shocks.

    Even if this doesn't fix the squat at least I can throw those shitty KYB struts and shocks in the fire... This car has been waiting for a real suspension for a long time.

    • I admire your clean craftmanship.....that pink car is so freaking awesome.

      These gloves are perfect racing gloves for such a pimp ride.....a bit of humor behind it, lol.

      • Thats bad... I'm not a huge "shocker" advertiser... lol I think that is a bit overplayed.

        I do need a tinted visor for my new helmet though because then I can buy a black Simpson racing suit and just walk around the pits all day with that on and never take it off... Return of the black stig...

          • Best you can do is similar to what I did... non of it "fits" my car specifically someone else found out that a Saab 900 Rear shock would work in a pre 95 Beretta if you reamed out the top mount for the bolt, and I knew from experience that a 94 shock would work in a 95+ Beretta minus the extra suspension droop when you lift the car...

            But all you need to do is get detailed info on the shocks that Koni has and see if you can find something that is very close and only needs minimal customization to work. Same goes for the J-body strut inserts... Once again someone did it before but I just re-engineered the way to bush the cartridge in the L-body strut housings, but overall not very difficult to do.

            Koni and Bilstein WAY back in the day did make struts and shocks for my application, not sure about 95-96 specifically, but both of them have since discontinued the product lines... There is one guy that has the original Bilstein setup in his 95 Z26 and one other who has the original Koni setup in his 90's GTZ... Both setups are "rebuildable" by the vendors but I wonder what they would charge if parts they need are no longer on the shelf, or if they do not offer rebuilds on discontinued products.

            • I heard a long time ago SHO Taurus Konis will fit with an extension on the tube that houses the strut in the knuckle (cartridge style strut). At least that's what the guys with the L67 GTP's do, I believe. Kinda shocked that they don't get Konis. Speculation though, I don't know for sure if the do or don't. I might look into it sometime...

                          • Don't buy cheap Monroe upper insulators...





                            The last coil bent the plastic part and cut the rubber insulators, I went back to the factory ones I still had.



                            Insert in the housing.



                            Test fitted the rear, end up with 2" of shock travel vs the old 3" not sure yet if the springs bottom out before the shocks but I think they will.

                            • Ok, now this engine shit is getting serious... LOL

                              Spider legs of Direct Port here we come!






                              In other notes, The car did get some pretty good runs end of this season,(October) I don't have my slips on me for all the details but I did hit a 12.66@108 with the new Hoosier tires and Koni suspension... Much less in the wheel spin department or at least much less issues with it than I've had in the past. I hope to get this direct port system in and then after that also install a progressive Nitrous controller so I can start off the line at say 25hp and progress into the full 100 shot. I have a feeling that the direct port 100 shot jetting will produce more power than the TB injected 100 shot jetting so I can only see the wheel spin I've been getting on system activation getting worse than it is right now, making the progressive controller a must. That will also allow me to enable the system on the line and not when I "feel" that I have enough traction and that method should further improve my consistency.

                              Now I'm going to need two bottles and probably a -6an or -8an line feeding the system...
