I'd recommend removal of that LS badge on the trunk, if it's separate from the Malibu portion. Looks poser-ish with LS there and SS on the doors.

Absolutely right. I am a poser though... so it's all good. Naaaw you know what, I should have gotten one for the back, but i didnt because im fucked.. i have some new chevy logos coming though for the front and back of the car... so i can do without the big SS on the trunk.

It's really a debate as to validity of my claims. It may not be a performance car so to say, but it is customized to look more sporty... it's a bit louder, spools up pretty nice, so thats why i thought it deserved the SS.

Trust me dude, this is Niagara, Canada... a lot of people drive some rice up here, i'm just trying to make a statement about domestic cars. I think it would be better to fuck around with these chevys and pontiacs... i dont know, im rambling now

k buddy, LS badge is gone...

um... what year 3400 heads should I look for Issac? im pretty sure I can have some heads on there in a matter of 10 hours or so...i didnt realize it was so easy... anyways, would i have a problem with 2002 3400 heads?

my second question is will I require any additional retuning? will I run to lean on my 3100 PCM's program?

You know I honestly cant see that happening because my fucking 02 sensor should be like... hey, lots of 02, lets add some gas....

Considering people swap out whole 3400's for small port 3100's you'll be fine. Yes having the big port top end will throw off the tune but not enough for it to be dangerous or not run right. But if you could tune you could get more power of course. Now say if you swapped a 3500 you'd need to tune and bigger injectors.

Any year 3400 heads will work, and 2002 is pretty new and I think before they went from 10mm to 8mm rocker studs so that should be pretty nice (10mm is more durable of course FWIW).

well it looks like you're going my route

i did the 00+ ported top end and noticed a large improvement over the smaller ported 99... (mine is a 99 too).

largest improvement though was the cam+heads+headers

I think I'll just buy a 2000+ when the time comes, so I don't need to bother with the heads. I like the grill better too (and that's what really matters right?). Are there some decent headers for this model?

Well, I might be trading the Amigo in and getting an '03 Malibu tomorrow (Sunday). Silver w/ 47k miles. I stopped by the local dealership this afternoon to look at a Malibu, but it was actually an '05 "Classic" with a 2.2L 4cyl. I drove an '05 Grand Am with a 3400, it was nice, but too expensive.

S&S headers fit the newer malibus. I think it fits the 99 small port malibus too.

I think the grand Ams are alright... but for my own tastes the styling is too over the top.. to many body contours and everything. The Malibu has that plain look yeah, but if you can dress them a little and have the right color, you notice it has really nice lines...

                            i think it's sleek

I totally agree with you there. I'm trying to unload my Amigo and get this one:

                              Black, sunroof, spoiler, leather...
