You have the camera at the wrong end of the car for the exhaust note introduction, you know better. It could have been worse, you could have put music in the background to pollute the sound, an effect that makes me want to slam the fingers of the indvidual responsible in a door jam.

It sounds like it was skipping at a few points likely a rich problem if the smoke comming from the exhaust is any indication, I had that problem initially before making adjustments.

You must be running a MAF sensor with only 4 inches of vacuum right?

I heard the other video where you could barely get it started. That was crazy sounding.

What is your vacuum at idle? Yeah speed density might not be the best thing to run this thing anymore!! LOL

no MAF.. just a 3500 MAP. it pulls between 5 and 10 " at an average of 1000 RPM, around .68 MAP

as soon as i finish out the exhaust i'll put a video up of it running from that angle.. the porting i did over the winter seems to have made it idle alot harder. the bin file hasn't been changed at all from last year.

Yes it is smoking a little, it was in open loop for the video and the WB was saying around a 12.x AFR..

The porting may have lowered velocity at low RPM enough to mess with your tune and make it run even richer.

Maybe putting the old school MAP on with a vacuum line and some sort of dampener in the line to soften the pulses would help it run smoother?

            meh...

i'll probably just bump up the idle to 1200 then back off the spark timing and pull some fuel. it's no big deal.. just a quick video of it running

You are absolutely correct about that in which case it's time for a turbo to take advantage of the situation since the decreased intake velocity can hurt overall performance. A turbo will get the intake velocity way up there.

Another option you can consider since I've encountered the same thing with the 3900 cam regrind although not as severe, is to install a resistor to help lower the MAP signal closer to what it should be at idle. The reason it will work better in my situation is because 8F code is designed to run a 2 BAR MAP but the program is limited to 190 Kpa instead of the full 200, so if I biased the input a little lower by the amount it is short I'll still have a proper scale but better sync with other sensors at idle.

Hopefully the port job didn't create a problem, I have experienced that before with over porting on a V8

Sounds like it just needs a little "SUPERDAVE SUPERTUNE" Can't wait to hear it with the new exhaust, looking forward to the sound of dual Aerochambers.

                  awesome!!
There is a part when it sounds like a full roller v8 that we had in our dirt modified. Very cool..
I would love to have my camaro sound that good 2.8 liter.

                    I love that cam.

Is the new exhaust true duals? I'm considering it on mine.

nope.. still the 3" mandrel.. just Y'd into the 2 mufflers at the back with 2.25" pipe to each.

I got it fired up today with the mufflers on it and no tips, it sounds mean as hell.. lol

I'm thinking of dual 2" or 2.5" with 1.75" primaries

When are we going to see some video and hear the 3500Z with the new exhaust?

it's all tacked on, i'm not happy with the way it came out so tomorrow it's getting re-done.

I might just end up running true duals, getting kinda tired of the single exhaust sound. It's pretty agressive sounding right now with 3 major exhaust leaks though
