  • My 1993 Cutlass Supreme

My car is a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SL Coupe powered by a 3.1L 191ci MPFI GM 60*V6. My mother and father bought it brand new on December 26th, 1992 as a 1993 model. I even have the original sales reciept and factory stickers, and documentation. After extra options, Total Vehicle Price was $18,680.00.
In January of 2007, I bought the car from my mother, because she was going to sell it to a salvage yard. After I bought the car, and drove it home, the odometer read 234,001...It now reads over 243,500 and climbing.
Neither the engine nor the transmission have ever been rebuilt, or taken apart at all for that matter. Since I bought the car, all I have had to replace has been spark plugs, a coolant line, high pressure brake line, and the coil modulator and the coils.

    Added factory options include:
    16" Cast Aluminum wheels
    Instrument Panel Rallye Cluster
    Tilt steering
BYP Sport Luxury Package: Special front and rear fascias, Aero rocker moldings
    4-spd Auto transmission
    Cat-Back Dual Exhaust

What I have added to it:
    Pioneer DEH-2800MP head unit
Street Edge 6x9 rear deck speakers
    Cone air filter intake

    Soon to come:
CherryBomb GlassPack mufflers with chrome exhaust tips.

    Pictures!

    Exterior:

    Engine:

And the mufflers I will hopefully get on soon:

Sorry if my post is too lengthy
    Sometimes I get carried away

The rear end is a little rough, but a good-looking Cutlass overall. And why would you use glass packs on a V6? I don't think the sound is very appealing.

yeah im looking for front and rear bumpers, or to sand down and repaint the ones I have. they are kinda dry rotted. no clue what happened to the exhaust tips.

as for the glasspacks, my mufflers are rusted through at the welds...and I can't really afford 50 dollar mufflers :/
and I want a little more volume, but if I decide I dont like the sound when I get em on...ill probably get magnaflows or something

these 60/v6 are durable ass motors. bangedupjeep on this forum had a iron 2.8 in his 84 cherokee and he drove the piss out of it and still got 487k miles. when pulled the motor for a v8 swap we took apart the motor, and the cylinders walls where still good and the crank was perfect. it was ashame we pulled out and apart, well it going in a BUNE DUGGY now yah

My 1988 Cutlass Supreme 2.8 MPFI had 313,368 miles on it when I pulled it to do the 3100 swap. The main problem was the tranny. I minor rebuild would have probably fixed it up, but when I pulled it, I decided to just do it all. late 1999 3100 SFI, and 4T60-E with a custom chip.

The 2.8 was still going. It was a little worn out, but it was damn reliable.

i wonder how many more miles i should expect out of the tranny...i'm not worried about the motor lol. 5 days of the week i drive to and back from school...about 5 or so miles both ways...i open it up and go 110-111 all the way...(top speed limitor cuts me off at 111) during the summer i drove it the same way all day in 90-100 degree weather...and now with it being 30-40 degrees in the morning, its a little perkier, and still starts with no problem, while half the people with newer cars are having problems starting when schools out

Ehh...Change your fluid every 30,000 and add an auxilary trans cooler, about as big as you can get from the parts store. That should keep you going alittle while longer. Running that high you'll get it hot. BTW use a good brand of Dexron3 . Nothing overly fancy.
