  • A bit different

I've been lurking on this site for about two years now, looking for info on the 2.8/3.1/3.4 engine.

    Here's the end result.

It's a kit car, named a Stalker V6. It uses a 3.4 pushrod engine, but with a Edelbrock manifold mounting a Holley 390 cfm carb and I'm using a Mallory distributor with a Pertronix ignitor in it.

The finished car weights about 1400 lbs, and has about 180/190 hp. Goes like stink!

Thanks for all the info over the years.

Very cool! I like it. Lets see some photos of the engine.

      Nice bit of kit.

Surprised at how light you say your car is. A Lotus 7 fitted with a Ford 1600cc engine is the same weight that you claim (certified 630Kg on road).

A car with which I have been involved powered by an alloy Rover (nee Buick) V8 of similar clubman style weighs over 1500 lb.

      Sorry to seem pedantic.

          Thanks for the interest.

As I recall a "real" Lotus 7 was a bit lighter than 1400 lbs. I seem to recall something around 1200 "wet".

Could be wrong, the memory is the second thing to go... and I don't remember what the first thing is.

The pics of the engine are attached. The air cleaner had to be changed and the dip stick had to be cut down to fit under the hood. The valve covers are from a Fiero. The engine itself is a Chevy crate motor made to replace the 2.8 found in early S10's.
