Hey guys this is alittle off the wall but, I asked this gut why he wanted to swap out a 96' 3.4 dohc for a 3800 series 2. I think its a waste of money and way to go the way of the sheep (I feel). But he said the old tranny would bolt up, is this true? 60 degree to 90 degree I don't think it will work.

Even FURTHER off topic, but just for informational purposes, even the NORTHSTAR V8, the all-aluminum 90 degree FWD (exclusively so until recently) Cadillac V8 has the same bellhousing as the 660s. Check the picture I've enclosed. You'll notice the familiar steep sides and flat top to the bellhousing. The biggest difference is the big hole you'll note between the bellhousing area and the lifter galley (well, what WOULD be the lifter galley if it HAD lifters!) - that's where the STARTER goes. Dealerships quote something awful like 6 or 8 hours to change the starter - gotta pull the intake!
