    hey,
is there anyway to bypass the rev limiter on an older z34? i plan on building my bottom end up nicely and want to be able to redline a little higher than stock, any info on this topic would be appreciated

The chip I make and sell on the store can raise the limiter to 7150. That is the highest you can go without removing the limiter completely. I am not sure how to remove it completely anymore.

humm i know on my tuner (OBD2 later Z34) you have a rev limit you can change say... set it to 9000! and then a fuel cutoff RPM not sure what is all involved in adjusting obd1

You probably know this already, but you should really look into doing something to increase the engine's power output in the upper RPMs before or while you get the rev limit changed, or else you'll just be wasting gas and accellerating slower than you could if you changed gears. Adjust your cam timing, fabricate a short-runner intake/switch to the 96-97 intake, get your cams reground (or have blanks ground to spec), etc.

I dont think the bottom end is what holds the revving ability back, you need to beef up your valve train so you dont get valve float.
