  • My timing belt broke. How bad coul the motor be?

    My timing belt broke and we got it running and sounds like vales are ticking or something is i dont know what it is does anyone know what it could be and if its easy to fix and cheap??????

    well either you did the timing wrong and its running bad or you broke the timing chain tensioner, it happened to me but it sounded like valves. it was very hard to diagnoise.

        Well if you had the belt break on any OHV engine you would want to inpect the heads anyway since it is easy at that point to remove them.

        Anyway if the noise never goes away it is either the lifters never got bleed right or the valves are not seating right or are bent. check compression.
