Which is better to work with on a 97 motor. Which is easier to reprogram for use with a manual. Also is a Haltech an even better choice?

OBD2. Haltech is good, but I honestly would probably prefer DHP or HPTuners to Haltech. There are some other good standalones that I would consider, but they are $$$$.

Yup. Still have it. I got the interface registered, but am having trouble connecting to the ECU.

Nah, it's an error 150. It's communicating with the PowerTuner box, but not the PCM itself. I think it's an issue with the wiring. Right now, my engine, wiring harness, and pcm are all on an engine stand and I'm trying to communicate through the C100/OBD2 connector... The Powertuner is getting power, but it doesn't seem to be able to talk with the pcm.

Well now you can add the only DOHC HPTuners tuner. I'm happy with its performance. Aftermarket forces you to start from scratch, OBD II at least gives you a base. It's not terribly hard to make it work with a manual, takes a little computer trickery, but it works.I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.
