Set number piston like I showed you and put the tool on it and set both at "0" .

Since you have the 96, you might need to set the exhaust at +4* and the intake at ZERO.

That no start could be LIM/uim gasket sucking in air causing it to not only fail to start, but also cause that popping through the intake. I at first thought it was due to timing be off (the popping through intake) .

OK I just read through this whole thing and watched the video by Ken and Now I dont know what to do.. I know I have to change my belt and I was just going to go with a stock setting and then I read up on the 6/6 and now after reading through this I think I am going to go back to stock, But now what is stock? 0/0 or 0/4* Shit I dont know. Gawd these forum discussions can sometimes be more of a hinderence then a help.

Do we have a confirmation on if the 6/6 works on the 96 Engines?
I dont know what this means but "ASS HATS" is funny

Is there a way to adjust the timing on the 91-93 engine without removing the timing belt?

Hey guys, when you say 6/6 does that mean advance the Intake 6 degrees and retard the Exhaust 6 degrees.

So I put my car at 6/2 Meaning 3/1 on cam degree (marks on the tool) and it worked out fine.

This is a pitcure of 6/6 in PLACE and it didn't work wonderfully. This is the front bank (obviously). Notice which way the cams go. Think of the movement of the crankshaft. Whatever goes WITH the crank is + and what goes backwards is -

I'm only speaking from experience. Now you do whatever you want to do. I wound up tearing my car apart like three times til I got it right. (don't know what happened that second time :P )

P.S. I notice the scoring on your tool. What I did to help move the cam is bonk it with a RUBBER mallet to help move a subborn cam.
How can I get this tool to time the cams? I am about to order the noisy lifters from here since this is, apparantly, pretty much the only place you can get lifters for our engine.

By the way, I am on w-body and have a '93 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertable with the 3.4L DOHC. All original with 66K miles at this time.

I am changing all the gaskets out from the head gaskets up and the lifters weren't pushing oil through the pumps anymore, so I decided to get new lifters as well.
