I might soon be starting an engine swap in my Fiero and I can get my hands on both the early and late model engines and the wiring harnesses and computers for each. The 91 would run me about $200 if I pulled it and the 96-97 $450 pulled (I forgot to ask if I could pull the engine myself for cheaper; if so, that's an option). I know the 96-97 is more of a pain to install. I can probably get my hands on the early engine's cams pretty cheaply if I go with the 96-97.
Which would you choose? Are the better heads and intake worth the effort? Would they be worth it after installing the lumpier early cams?
