bad ground or not a thick enough cable to the front. take your ground through the trunk floor, sand off a spot on the framerail and apply some dielectric grease, and bolt the ground cable to the frame. also add a ground strap from the front framerail(not the cradle - the formed rail that's part of the body structure) to the engine block if there isn't already(this was built into the original negative cable so chances are you removed it).

i suspect bad ground although i'd never use less than 2ga for relocation of battery.

Ok I will change the ground in the trunk and in the eninge bay. but why would that cause it to start and then not when it gets hot. also my ground on my starter is a very small bolt how can i add a 2 ga ground it would hit the positive

? there is no ground on the starter. that little one is the wire from the ignition that is used to trigger the starter solenoid.

so the only ground is for the battery? ok so if I ground the battery better then it should fix it but if not than just run 2 ga directly to the starter from the battery in the trunk. So it has to be the ground.

you need to have ground straps though. from the engine(there is a stud on one of the tranny bellhousing bolts for this) to the frame and body. think about it. your battery is grounded to the car chassis. the starter is grounded through itself to the engine block. the engine and tranny assembly is isolated from the chassis via rubber mounts. run ground cables from a the engine - anywhere a bolt hole is accessible, to the chassis. preferably the front frame rail, you can even use the old battery hold down bolt. this should solve your problem. you're not letting the starter operate properly and you'll burn shit up fast(accelerator and shift cables, wiring, etc...) if you try and start it like it is.

Ok I feel like a dumb ass. So the starter is grounded through its self the the engine and trans. thats why the stock ground it attached to the motor/starter to the chassis. So by me making a ground strap from the trans to the chassis should solve my problem. One thing though I never took off the stock grounding cables. So shouldn't it have the strap you are talking about. Sorry I just am not seeing the problem.

only thing I can think of that not woking is it getting fused together when you put the bolt through the stock grounding strap. Making it one but with out the bolt, is it two seperate wires so they are not really connecting to each other?

OK well this is what I am going to do.

1. Make a 2ga wire strap from the black to the front framerail and leave the stock one just incase.
2. Add an extra ground from the battery in the trunk to the hinge on the trunk alsoin 2ga
3. Add a strap from the starter positive to the stock positive terminal where my 4ga from the battery in the trunk meets up.

Does this sound like a good idea or am I total off

Just bolt the factory battery terminal to the frame of th car

this is working well for me.
