  • GI: for Group Buy poly engine mount

this is for the lower engine mount. i will most likely do them all but due to limited rescources, only 1 at a time.

from personal experience this is the mount that appears to recievce the most wear(or shows the most wear anyway).

this is a different source than most of my g/b's so i have no idea on turn around and as the thread states this is just guaging interest.

as i have to send a motor mount to the guy and he will have to examine it and hopefully come up with a quote.

not sure about every1 but mine gives quite a bit of wheel hop. but i hear poly mounts help handling though but cannot confirm it. not really a suspension guy.

I can see doing mine since I have the motor out right now. How soon would you have them done by?
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

Would they be Polyeurothane? Because that would make for a shit load of additional interior engine noise. When I changed to my poly dog bone, it make a hugh difference in noise. Don't regret it though, awesome improvement in preformance.

hey HayesPerformance, hit me up on aim.

as mentioned on another thread it will be Polyeurothane. as of now i think it is the delron type.

as far as price, i have no idea as of yet on a concrete quote. i just sent an original mount to the guy yesterday so i am thinking it will arrive friday.

after it arrives, he will have a real quote.

i have no committment as of yet so i am open to outsourcing if any1 in particular *cough*HayesPerformance*cough* could beat that price.

The dogbone just has poly inserts.

UPDATE: talked to the guy today and he says he will have a quote for me next week.

tijuana_no, i am not an experienced machinist and unfortunately have to rely on others . just letting u know i do not have much control of the stiuation really. if it were up to me they would be sitting on my desk ready to ship .

as soon as i know, you guys will. this is a new source than be4 and i do not believe he is a cnc guy, so hopefully i can get some completed pics be4 i collect any money this time.

                            time wil tell i suppose.

i think i am gonna bail on this for now. the guy still hasn't supplied a quote. sappyse107 said he was going to find out something from his guy as a contengency, but that was weeks ago.

also the guy wants to change the design to a block of aluminum with poly washers. if i wanted solid mounts, i could have a local guy make them for a fraction of the price.

i appreciate the enthusiasm and if i do find some1 else, if any of you want me to notify you, just lmk and i will do so. i may revive this thread or start a new one if i can find some1 else.

LASTLY, IF ANY1 KNOWS OF A COMPETENT FABRICATOR....PLZ LMK
