Well, I've got a chance to get a J-body right now, for fairly cheap ($200 Sunbird 3.1/5-speed with a hole in the block) - I've got access to plastma cutter, and a MIG welder (not as good as tig, I know) so I was thinkin' I could pull the interior apart on the J-body, cut the firewall, and reshape it to fit the motor, along with a smaller radiator that can be placed further forward.

I always thought the TDC motor would be sexy as hell in a Jbody - I thought about fitting it in my old S10 (that made it's way to the junk yard today by the way) but I'd have to modify the intake manifold to move the throtle body to the other side due to clearance issues.

I'd actually be willing to sell my turbo-stang for a project like this.

Do the J-bod mang. it would be sexy.keep it looking stock on the outside though . if the motor mounts are the same on a 3.1 j-bod as they are on a what grand prix with a 3.1 could you use the grand prix 3.4 mounts to make it somewhat of a bolt in (if you get what i mean?)? But I still say keep the car looking as stock as possible

I don't want anyone to know what's under the hood by lookin' at it from the outside - that's my thing, so the idea of the stock look isn't a problem.

the reason I like the J-body's with the V6's is because of the hood, you get that nice fresh air intake, that's actually functional.

I think I have an idea of what I'm gonna do now for sure.

but if someone buys my car or engine before I start this project ... I could always use the extra money
