  • Mahle Pistons for LQ1

Hey, my machinist just scored some Mahle brand pistons for my DOHC rebuild .20 over.

Has anyone heard of that brand?

He was pretty excited, and the same price as the silvolets.

Mahle pistons are what they used in the TGPs (IIRC). They've been around for awhile.

The machinist said that the mahle pistons are machined better than silvolites.

He bored out the cylinders today.

Can I reuse the head gaskets? They only havea bout 3 minutes of run time on them but I think I will pop for a new gasket set...hmmmm
