    has anybody use the crank scraper or bought one. i am at the point where i can still put one on my engein. are they safe. any one test it

    I put one on (95MC Z34). You MUST turn the crank by hand to check for clearance.

    My machinist took a look at it, he has a race truck. He said it was cool, but really wasn't close enough to do much good.

      There is a teflon version that touches the crank but it costs more. It requires more work as well since you have to use a knife to get it to just touch the crank, and then let it bed in.

        How much clearance do you need on that scraper to take into account stretch and flex from the crank at 6500rpm?

        Or is it a case of laying on some paint on the crank, setting it close, making a run, and checking for scuffs?
