          do some rough math

Atmosphere is about 14 psi, so running a turbo at 14 PSI should ideally double your airflow, doubling your horsepower. But turbos arnt 100% effecient, so figure 75% max. My calculations say about 84 extra hp on a 225 hp engine with 7psi. Its just a rough estimate, the LQ1 has been known to exceed that though.

Iono if it's true, but I've heard that the more boost we run(up to a point) the more effecient oupr engines run. Any idea the truthfullness of this?

i am putting together the same kit as tim. i am working with him on everything. this is not ment to be a hot rod. i just moked up the intercooler so that when it gets painted , i wont have to fiddle with it trying to get it mounted. so bascially this was just a mock up pic. but i got alot of people trying to race me. and it wasnt even hooked up. thanks for the compliments just wait till you see the turbo mounted. that is going to be discusting

if you really want to do it contact tim. actuall he tought me a lot to but do you have a 3.4. i am going to be having my manifolds made soon and i can get you a set made to fit a turbo that would be the crossover pipe and the downpipe. these are the two major parts for a custom turbo kit. becaus eyou have to weld and cut and weld and fit and cut. I would be happy to help let me know

You should be able to do a basic turbo setup for under $2k. For something intercooled, $3k. I'm planning on redoing mine soon, but it might be mid summer before I can make any progress- I travel too much for work to do anything before then.

Tim was right on one thing the small things add up very fast. 100 for feed hose, silicone, intercooler, clamps, bolts, manifolds. gauges. But it will be awsome when its done. As far as how much money i have spent so far i cant tell you it hurts. Also i am rebuilding my 3.4 as we speak. its pretty hard to do seeing as nobofy makes bolts for it, and nothing is cheep for it. I have the block bored and honed to .20 over hyperutetics pistions, balanced, blue printed oil pump with high flow spring, clevite 77 bearings, cloyes timing chain, flash removed, chrome moly rings by sealed power-special for turbo application. thats it for the low end. I could of had it shot peened but thats alot of money. also I was going to go with arp bolts but they dont sell them for the motor. that was 1,500$ right there. I might get some shot peening done since my crank has to be replace because the side to side clearance was to much. good thing my dad is freaking awsome at engine rebuilding. i will post some pics. any question feel free to pm me

as far as the intercooler goes. It is a jdm 12*8*2.5. its a little small but holds up 30+ psi of boost. since i am running 7psi its a pretty good over kill intercooler. It is a plate and bar intercooler with cast end tanks. if you would like to know anything else let me know.
