  • I'm going for it. 4 exhaust cams!! :)

Well its time to quit speculating about it!!! Since I'm putting my car back together while I rebuild and P&P my spare set of cyl. heads. Its a perfect time to test it. If it yeilds undesirable results. I can switch cams out when I change cyl. heads. Will post results ASAP.

I am more interested in knowing how you are going to time the cams. I would rather spend 200 and have 2 cams reground to better than stock specs and still be able to use the cam flats to time it. Should be interesting.

              I agree

You may end up paying way to much to get it to work or worse BOOOM> flammage.

Do to my schedule at work. I've had limited time to work on it. In the process of timing it now.

All timimg will be checked with a degree wheel and a dial indicator. Degree cams is the only to be sure way. Once its done I can post a simple degree amount. Making it simple to do in the future.

Note: The cam timing tool for sale at the 60degree store is making things alot easier. Being able to remove one side of the tool allows me to be able to turn one cam while holding the other.

Ok that was a Pain In the A$$ to figure out. But perserverance and help from Desktop Dyno its timed -7 exhaust +6 intake. Going out tonight. I'll finsh this biaaatch in the morning. Of course the results are still unknown.

If it is a success i'll do a full write up on it. No easy way to do it and be right. Degree wheel, dial indicator and timing tool are a must have.

First problem: OBDII doesn't like valve overlap. Kicks SES light on. May need to add more fuel. Not familiar with OBDII's ability to learn fuel curve's with overlap. Since I dont have a scanner or a exh gas analyzer readily available to me. It will be a few days before I can check it out. Even with the light coming on it still pulls harder then before. (same cam timing as before -8 exh and +8 int) Seems to have lost a tiny bit on the bottom end. But with some cam timing adjustments I should be able to regain it. (FYI auto trans. car)

As soon as I get the bugs worked out. I'll dyno it.

thats awesome that you got it running. what about the cam position sensor? I've always wondered where the cam timing sensor picks up anyhow. Not to turn the thread, but can you use 91-93 cams in the 94-95's with obd1.5?

                              Dyno numbers would be awesome!
3.4 DOHC- 95 engine, custom intake manifold, custom cams, ported exhaust manifolds, Turbonetics T-62, Haltech standalone, 13.5 psi, air/h20 intercooler... yadda yadda...
1987 Fiero, ST lowering springs, KYB's, Clutchnet dual diaphragm 6-puck, custom paint, 18's with falken fk452 225 front Nitto NT05 245 rear. Should be around 450whp...
