  • FFP's Dogbone Mount?

I was wondering if the dogbone from Fast forward performance actually gets more power to the ground. Would there actually be a noticable differance in the performance of my 93 Z. Thanks.

In theory... yes. What it does is stiffen the joint between the engine and frame so the extra rotational torque is retained instead of twisting the dogbone. Creates a rougher feel to the idle, more engine vibraiton felt in the car. As for actually improving hp output?? I'm skeptical but I still have one on my GP.

There seems to be a pattern there.

Its not going to put more power to the ground once you are moving. Its the instant throttle snap that you get more to the ground. After the engine is done torquing on a rubber setup, its still putting the same through the trans and axles.

Poly Mounts do not add HP to the engine. They do however add HP to the wheels at take off as Ben said, and in each gear change. And although I like that, my favorite added attraction of a Poly-Bone, is the transfer of sound throughout the Uni-Body. Frame cars don't get this. It does not affect your idle, you just feel and hear it more. Body Harmonics. I'd like all Poly mounts if I could get them.

well the mount will not change or add HP
what everyone is thinking about it Tq it is the torque gained from limiting the engine movement not HP.
i have seen Quotes of 5-10 lbs gained at launch, but am sceptical about that. after i got mine, i noticed that the car seemed more resposive to sudden throtle changes.

I got it in the mail tonight and i love it. I went outside at 8 and put it on. I immediately noticed the differance in sound. It is alot louder inside the car but it actually smoothed out the idle. My car used to shake alot during idle. I went and drove around and it wanted to spin the tires alot more than usual. I wonder if this will improve my 60ft times? And if so, how much.

I find it easier to break the tires loose with mine. I'll be ordering another one for my new GP very soon, the stocker is completely shot.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.
