lq1/284 shift points????

what are the best shift rpm's for each gear to yield the best results in a drag race?

on the auto's it was like 6-6350 i believe. i would imagine to get better results from the manual, i would have to lower these numbers since the gears are closer together.

maybe 5700 to 6K? (depending on the fdr difference)

Top of the power band of coarse, with a manual it is easier to achieve and stay within the top part of the power band.

5750 I used as a shift point.

3800-4000 minimal tire slip. A good 284 will almost glide itself into gear without ripping the tires loose at that rpm, and at a point where the 284 locks floor it, shift before 5800. float the gas pedal about half and quickly shift as fast as you can a release then floor it shift before 5800.
