  • Results of my dyno....

Just got done capturing the video, and here it is:

Those numbers are good, but they're not what I wanted. However, how the engine makes the power it does makes me quite happy. Here's a chart of the best run:

I made the runs using 90 octane gas and some fresh Schaeffer Oil, which I used for the first time on Friday and I'll never use anything else. My motr is actually quieter with it than Mobil 1, and it costs less and it's only a synthetic blend. Awesome stuff.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

I know these are gutless engines below 3500 but I expected a little more out of her then that.. Oh well, guess it's time to change my perspective a little. Good numbers overall though.

    92 GP GTP 3.4DOHC 5spd
    88 Fiero Formula CONVERTIBLE 3.4DOHC 5spd
    84 Fiero T-Top 3.4DOHC 5spd
There seems to be a pattern there.

We think the reason I have less under 3500 is because I'm having a lifter issue right now. We'll see what happens in the spring.

I think tuning with a dyno will make a huge difference. That and we can take care of your lifter issue since you have the parts. Im sure those numbers will all go up

Yeh, a good dyno tune will make a huge difference. On my motor when we threw the car up on the dyno without a tune it was only making 240WHP, after we were done it was 257WHP - 17WHP. I'm sure that you will pick at least that much up, you've got extensive head work and a better intake setup than me, also I ran on a Mustang dyno that typically shows lower numbers than the other dyno's out there.

I would imagine that after your tune I'll be bumped to #2 on the n/a LQ1 WHP list.

Good run none the less Josh! Now let's figure a way to get these MT2's in...

oldskoolgp... what is all done to your car? Im curious because I am planning on doing the intake swap and was trying to figure out if i'd end up with simular numbers to what you have or not.

            Thanks!

It's probably going to take more than just an intake swap. I would say the swap alone is maybe good for 6-8 WHP. I also have extensive head work done, and a lot of tuning by Ben.

I wasnt expecting just the intake to do the trick, but thanks for sharing what you have done. You dont have any cam timing, do you?

I don't have the 13 degree exhaust timing, I have somehting a little more special that Ben and I have been experimenting with.

I dunno, but 200 ft-lbs of torque at 2700 RPM doesn't seem gutless.

The remarkable thing I see is the torque curve is pretty flat from 2700 to 5200.

Isn't that wild? Very LS1 like IMO opinion.
