  • Fully grooved main bearing

I noticed in my new set of King main bearings the thrust bearing is fully grooved (both halves have grooves) so the rods being oiled off that main get 360 degree oiling. I can't remember my old Clevite bearings being like that. Anyone have a pic of the trust bearing shells from a Clevite set?

    RE: Fully grooved main bearing

Damn, took me a while to find my bearings:P They are federal mogul. The thrust bearing isn't fully grooved. 1 half is, and the other half tapers down a short ways. Id guess its about 70% grooved.

360* oiling sounds good to me.. infact int he gm 2.8 performance manual it says to drill and debur two more oil holes through the one bearing half to allow more oil to flow into the bearing

Huh. I guess King knows what they're doing! Not gonna have #4 rod problems in MY motor
