What I said over there was that the front set, INCLUDING the downpipe, is not equal. They are equal to the end of the collector, but the front has an extra couple of feet of 2 1/4" madrel bent downpipe. But as far as primaries, flanges, and collectors go, both are exactly equal with 30" primaries.

I bought all of my pipe from HeadersByEd and it is awesome. You can't buy 90* turns, only 180*. So I got 10 180* U bends, and 2 180* J bends.

My design was kinda close to that. But using that method, there is no way to really get them equal length, it would be guess work. So I used 3/8" copper tubing, it is flexible, and no matter how I turn it-it will stay 30". So I got them ran out with that, then covered it with a covering that makes them 1 5/8". Then I figured out all the sections of pipe and amrked them and cut them. Then i tookt he pipe and used duct pape to get it together and modify them to fit etc. After this I tacked them and peeled the tape off. Then I finished the welds and ground them down lightly. After this I fit them into the car and figured out where on the flange they should weld at. I marked this and got them welded to the flange, then adjusted the end of the primaries a little and got the collector on and welded. Tehn i test fit them and started it to problem solve. IT WAS LOUD AND SOUNDED LIKE ASS. So I took them down and had them coated, then I put them on and finished the downpipe and hooked it up to the rest of the exhaust.

    • And I taught myself how to weld about 1/2 hour before starting welding my front set, and no welds leak and none broke so I did something right.

        • I need to get them from my computer, but I am at a buddy's house using his. I will get them to ya in the next couple of days.

I do not have pics of the rears on, cuz I didn't want to jack it up and do all that BS just for some pics.

          • in response to the 3" has better flow than 2 2.5"s. okay i dont know my technical shit about air flow and pressures and resistance but here is my two cents.
a 1 foot peice of 3" pipe has approx.
            84.78 cubic inches of volume
now a 1 foot piece of 2.5" pipe has approx.
58.92 cubic inches of volume 117.84 cubici inches for the 2 pipes combined
so in the dual setup it has approx. 1.4 times the volume of the single three.
however this may cause exhaust velocities to be too low. possibly loosing power. but like i said i dont know how much air these engines move out and how fast so...

                • Did you spray paint them?!?! Nice "coating"...

Anyways, I can see two problems with your setup:

1: One of the front primaries is way too close to the dogbone! If you grabbed second gear hard, I bet it would hit.

2: You're gonna melt your upper radiator hose.

Other than that, they look decent. Why did you spray paint them WHITE?

                  • Those look pretty good, but i dont like the white color. Does your car sound any different with those on? What does the power gain feel like? Get your parts car to the track and see what it compares to your previous time.

                    • It looks like the high-temp ceramic header paint. I used the same stuff on mine, but ended up wrapping them. The light color actually helps to find leaks.

                      • Racer is right, it is a high temp ceramic coating. I don't like the color as much as I do the Jetcoat siler, but the Jetcoats was like 400 bucks.

The primary does hit the dogbone, but I don't think it will hrt it and it hasn't yet. Since ti is in contact all of the time, there is no "impact" on it. The upper hose would melt, but I went to Autozone and got one that barely touched it and then I used an old exhaust flange thingy off a old toyota and it holds it about 1 inch apart and the metal piece doesn't heat up, so it works good.

The car sounds worse actually, which i didn't like. It is quite a bit faster, I pull a car length on my dads 6-speed LT1. Before I was struggling to stay within a few car lengths of it.
