Well, as few of you guys know, the big Grand Prix Gathering was this past weekend. And as I own a Grand Prix, I felt obligated to attend and make my presence known. It started off well enough, with me winning the bracket eliminations at Cordova Raceway, with a 5 speed no less, and catching and passing an L67 powered GTP for the win. This was of course in the stock class, and there were other classes that won things too.
Best run: 15.08
Worst run: 15.15
Avg. R/T: .118
The next day comes along, and it's time for the autocross. My first two runs, I was missing a gate and getting DNFs. Then my third run I finally got it right and took the win by almost 4 seconds. I didn't even run my last run because no one could even come close. Although, I did drive my buddy's '99 GTX to the fifth fastest time of the day with only one run and having never driven his car before, so 3 of the 5 top times were mine.
In the Car Show, I got a 2nd Place trophy. Let's face it, my car works for a livin', it's not a trailer queen or a low mileage garage monger. I was surprised to win anything in the car show. But anyway, here is the end result:
The one on the far left I actually won last year, but the other four are new, and suffice it to say I made the 3.4 well known before the weekend was over. At the car show on Saturday, one of the photographers came up to me and started talking to me about the car, and I told him what I had done to it and what engine it had. And then he said to me, "Now all you need to do is swap an L67 into that thing." And of course, as I had been waiting all weekend to say to someone, I replied with 3 simple words:
FUCK THE L67!!!
Kevwood, can I convince you to show up next year so we can just thoroughly trounce them at strip and course?
