Ok, 6 balanced injectors.. trust me the first set i had sucked. The second set was a set of 8, only 6 of those really matched well. They are bosch style injectors, looking at them I actually think they have to be an improvement since that is what they run in race cars and off road vehicles. Engine runs as smooooooth as a kitten today, need to get the hood on and take it out and start breaking in the engine.
Here is a run down on the injectors we tested on the bench.
15 second open flow at 40psi, Brand new Accel 24lb/hr injectors.
1 48ml
2 74ml
3 68ml
4 72ml
5 70ml
6 62ml
the two 19lb/hr stock ones tested evenly at 55.
Second set of Accel Injectors (8pk) new
15 second open flow at 40psi, Brand new Accel 24lb/hr injectors.
1 51ml
2 72ml
3 72ml
4 72ml
5 72ml
6 72ml
7 76ml
8 72ml
so we are keeping the 6 72lb/hr and sending back the 8 worst. Accel guarantees them +\- 1.5% so most of them were just all over the place. The orginal 6 were individually packaged, the second set was a box of 8. But Accel should be ashamed to put them out there like that.
My recommendation is buy two sets, test them, send the worst back as defective. Just ticks me off we had to pull the plenum back off, take them and pay 40 bucks to find out one of the first sucked extremely bad enough to sound like a miss. And of course another 40 on the second set to find out which ones were good. Doesn't look like 24lb/hrs are too much fuel for a good intake and a bit of matching. With porting they would probably be perfect.
