  • The dyno numbers are in...

    The car has taken longer than I thought it would but we got it put together and on the dyno early on August 1st. We didn't get everything installed we wanted to, but in the end it's okay because we can track all HP gains after each item is installed. Current mods are as follows;

    '91 3.4DOHC LQ1
    Blueprinted and balanced, 30 over
    Custom JE pistons
    Sized, hardend and balanced rods
    Turned and balanced crank
    Ported and polished heads, r&d done on a wet flow bench
    Turned and balanced flywheel
    Magnecore spark plug wires
    AC Delco Rapidfire spark plugs
    Custom air intake (3"-5"-3") with Injen filter (not cold air yet)
    Re-designed breathing system with Greddy catch can
    SUN automotive hypergrounds
    FFP underdrive pulley
    Custom Competition Clutch 'Ironman'
    New pressure plate, balanced with flywheel
    Re-built Getrag 284

    All custom dyno tuned by LIGHTSPEED Innovations. And I should point out;

    STOCK intake manifold
    STOCK throttle body
    STOCK cam timming
    STOCK exhaust manifolds

    More mods on the way, but for now, here we are...

    257 WHP, 230 WTQ

    All build up pictures later this week, video being converted to digital format as well.

            Congrats. Now comes a whole nother round of arguing. That is pretty sick though. Are you putting that in the red car or your other one? Looks nice.

              Thanks Kyle. I don't think there will be any doubt this time, I've got a ton of pic's, lots of dyno runs to back up the numbers and video's of all the runs. But yeah, there always is someone out there that wants to stir the shit pot... The red car was written off by a red light runner, this is the 5-speed wite car.

                    Those numbers are fantastic on stock log manifolds. If you are interested, the guy you should have build your headers is very close to you - in Didsbury, AB. About an hour drive for you. He's the guy that prototyped our Sigma6. He's got all the bends you need. I can ship him two flanges for ya, plus he has a vested interest in the head mods and tuning. His work is stellar.

                      Hmmm, that's almost everything I started out with verbatim. Great minds must think alike! Can I ask what you using for injectors and fuel pump?
                      I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

                          What did your heads flow?

                          I am guessing you had them ported as well?

                            He had them ported after the company did wet flow bench testing. Thats the best...im jealous.

                              Thanks for the input, I will give a email but I'm pretty sure Lightspeed Innovations will be making my headers, we work well together and I don't see anything less than exceptional quality come out of his shop. And yeh, Didsbury is close, I'll have a look.
