The injectors are new but stock part #'s. There is NO reason to upgrade the injectors to aftermarket ones- there is still room to richen it up and not push them to the limit. I did however have my old injectors cleaned and bench tested but was dissapointed at the results. The new injectors are a definate improvement. They look the same as the original ones but have a funnel on the bottom where the fuel is sprayed. I am told is an upgrade in the design. The fuel pump is a GM pump but is a upgrade, I am unaware as to what it's factory aplication is.

          very impressive.

I must ask how-ever. How much did this project cost?

Thanks. It?s pretty hard to put a total value on it, the parts were not cheap as most were custom made or modified but the r&d to get to that point was the big one? that?s where the majority of the bill would be. I'm not going to quote numbers right now as most the product needed to achieve this build up could be available through LIGHTSPEED and here on 60degreeV6 sometime soon. Love your car by the way, Michael did a great job with it ? enjoy!

The guy that rebuilt my 4T60E in my auto car also rebuilt my 284. He has four Fiero's that are running all types of small blocks that are matched up with either a 282 or a 284. He has a massive amount of custom made parts for his own personal use and was good enough to help me out with the two items I needed.

All I have to say is you hear a car on the dyno and you can feel a good number. After we were on the street and the shift linkage was fixed I knew there was many smiles per mile comin out of this one. I will never forget the complete burnout across Troys parking lot tho smoke rollin off both tires and then shuttin it down for the street. It was a long project and there is more work to do but so far I am happy with the outcome.

very very interesting and good results you got! Awsome power for stock cams and intakes! I'd like to know what they would charge to have the heads worked over like that!

Dr. Lightspeed your thoughts on this subject?

They are not listed in their catalog of parts. We sent them the specs we needed and they were made for us, same as the Competition clutch, custom.

So I got the car off the dyno in Red Deer and brought it home to Edmonton now - runs like a top! There is so much raw power it's hard to believe! On the highway I never have to take it out of 5th, up and over the hills like they aren't even there.

The clutch has taken some time to get use to, it's VERY grabby and if you aren't aggresive enough with the gas it shutters the whole car quite a bit leaving a light. Only problem I seem to have is the exhaust system knocking on the body now, the bushings in the dog bone are torn out (they were fine before the swap!) and there is excessive engine movement now. I have a FFP dog bone but have misplaced it.

I was able to get it out last night and open it up a few times, lot's of traction problems out of the hole and quite a bit of break loose going into 2nd, mind you I still have the 225's on it. It sure hauls ass though - no comparison to the last motor that put down 197 WHP. I have to get the car in for an alignment then I can slap on my 255 45 17 Falkens - those should plant it quite a bit better. I'm not much of one to race on the street so I won't have any stories for you until I go to the track in Calgary on August 20th (hopefully) and Edmonton on September 17th, Lightspeed is a sponsor of the (Edmonton) event so I will be racing for them.

After that I will add the MSD, cold air intake box, retard the exhaust cams and add a few other electronic goodies. I'll be sure to dyno the car between EVERY addition so we can all see the actual HP gains from these mods, as well as 1/4 mile times.

I should have the rest of the pic's up this weekend, thanks for your patience guys!

If you have time try +6 intake and -6 exhaust for cam timing. That combo seems to work very well on the auto trans cars. Im currently running +8 intake and -8 exhaust. Has a slight intermintent lope at an idle when cold. Woke my 3.4L DOHC up BIG time.

I told Ben that I would try out a few combinations as long as time permits. So far it will be the 13* for sure, and Ben wanted me to try out the 6* & 6*, so I will give it a shot. Such a pain in the ass to adjust the cams so I really want to share the info with you guys so you can determine if it's worth the time or not. I'm not touching anything though until I get some 1/4 mile times, then we can compare dyno numbers and track times between one cam time and another.

If there is anything else you guys would like to see tried out, let me know. I'll see what I can and can't do for you, the more research the better!

Ill be at the track today with the 6/6 timing. Ill probably try 13 degree timing out in a couple weeks time at the track, depending on if I ever learn how to launch this thing (225s as well, sucks off the line).

Id post more, and PM lightspeed now that I see they are on here, but i gotta get out to the hotel and see if josh is there (60v6 meet right now). Look forward to the testing of each part, this is excellent news for all of us
