    Actually the block still has a 8.818 deck height, the cylenders went nowhere. But on the 3900 however... they moved outward? I read it somewhere.
    really? that'd mean that the wrist pin is .2 higher making for some seriously thin piston ring area..

      Looking at the pics V6h.o. posted in his other thread about the 3500 engine... You can see that the pin bore comes REALLY close to the rings.

        Don't be scared of a pin bore cutting into the oil ring groove. The procedure is to run an oil ring support - basically another flat ring - in the groove. There are no stresses on the oil ring that would require material below it.

          Hey that's pretty slick... Maybe I should go with those 6.0"ers But if I go with the 3500 crank, I'll be looking for rods that might not exist, to pull that off.

            That would be awesome if it worked. Im alittle bit concerned about the rods too though. Good luck man, let me know if it works
            3.4 DOHC- 95 engine, custom intake manifold, custom cams, ported exhaust manifolds, Turbonetics T-62, Haltech standalone, 13.5 psi, air/h20 intercooler... yadda yadda...
            1987 Fiero, ST lowering springs, KYB's, Clutchnet dual diaphragm 6-puck, custom paint, 18's with falken fk452 225 front Nitto NT05 245 rear. Should be around 450whp...

              i'd just as soon have the rod journals turned down to match the 3400 rods if there is too much interfierence with the block
