i am prepping this 93 and i believe it has an oil cooler. kind of odd for a auto car i think.
anyway when i was prepping on the top, i noticed a 5/8 coolant line going downward from the waterpump.
later when i was prepping underneath i noticed it plugged into what looked like under the grease an aluminum box that the oil filter was screwed into. it also had another port on itand another 5/8 coolant has attached but i didn't track it down, i was preoccupied with tracking and removing that PITA tranny bracket and freeing the entire exhaust after i rounded a bolt where the down pipe connects to the rest of the exhaust.
so is this the infamous lq1 oil cooler?
i will give cudos b/c the diameter of the lines are large but i don't like that fact that it does not have a standalone setup like most oil coolers and depends on the rad.
do these thing ever fail and coolant and oil mix?
