I put in a smaller 4 cyl in one of my Fiero's... What does that mean?

      heh, a quad4. like that isn't faster than a 2.8....smartass

off subject, how does the quad4 perform in a fiero? how does it compare to the 3.4 dohc? nice to see some1 with both a quad4 and a 3.4 dohc. 2 of my more favorable engines.

Well over at PFF he is quite favorable on the 3.4. I believe he said something to the effect of: "The Q4 was a terrible swap, it was much more expensive than the 3.4, got less hp, less torque, sounded worse, and was a much harder swap." But don't quote me on this, I'm pretty sure it was obsessed, but not positive. I'd search for the post, but PFF and search get along like a hooker and a virgin.

              Exhaust manifold and crossover

Anyone have a picture of a 96-97 set of exhaust manifolds and crossover pipe? I have someone that will sell me the manifolds but still need the crossover pipe.. and I really need to get back to it soon

                Crossover

For future reference the crossover for the 91 - 95s is the same as the 96 - 97, but the exhaust manifolds are pretty different.

OK after a few issues, 500 miles of break in, and waiting on the new chip from Ben to come in this week, I will give you some updates. Engine in, no major problems lots and lots and lots of minor ones. But I do have some updates I will try to write up later if anyone does this.

First suggestion, don't do it unless you have a whole donor motor.

26lbs injectors don't seem to go beyond the realm of a stock motor and computer chip. Beware of buying any injectors and not having them flow tested (this particular item cost me time & money). If you buy any new injectors (other than A/C you will pay out the ass for) buy two sets.. take them to a person with a flow machine.. keep the best 6, send the other 6 back.

Taking the time to check the lining up of the lower/upper intake and P&P worth it.

Getting your convertered changed to a 2500 stall and upgrading it to new material.. priceless (if you are near houston, Circle D has a specialty shop, and loves dealing with our sized converters 200-500hp)

Finding out you have bad wheel bearings, or for that matter.. antifreeze in your 92 engine
