  • cold air intake

Well i just got done moving the battery to it new home in the trunk becuase I want to experiment with creating a cold intake for the 3.4.
Do you guys have any ideas on the best way to do these.
The idea for now is just to use some pvc pipe right now, and then maybe later having some metal tubing bent to its design.

Other then the fact that PVC will have absolutely 0 insulating value for the air, and will in all actuality probably heat it up as it goes. it's will at least give you a visual clue as to how it will run when actually finished. Should be a good project though, have fun with it.

There seems to be a pattern there.

3" aluminum mandrel bent, powdercoated gunmetal, as seen on Tony's white Z34:

I'm not sure where you picked that information up, but the WORST thing you could use under the hood would be flat black or flat dark colored METAL tubing. PLASTIC tubing will have about 30 times the insulating value of metal tubing. If you can find plastic tubing with a highly polished metallized outer skin, that will go up to about 100 times.

Even the highly polished aluminum stuff is better than something painted a flat dark color.

Heat tranfer is not an art. It's a science.
