I've read that the 3.4 has been known to suck the pan dry during long periods of high rpm operation. I was wondering if there is a racing oilpan available for the 60* motor (you know, like the Milodon high cap oilpans you can get for an SBC)? I figure that with a couple extra quarts on hand, oil starvation would be less likely. I think that a 2.8 (or compatable) pan can be made to work on both the 3.4 OHV and DOHC. Couldn't hurt, anyways. Any suggestions?

is that right, no wonder i blew my motor up when it was stuch revving at 7,000 for 5 seconds. and now the crank is shot because it has groves in it

try a accusump
i run a accusump 3qt oil accumulator on my formula it would run out of oil in corners from g forces. a side benifit is that the car sitts for months an when i go to start it i open the switch an it pre oils the motor with 3qts of oil as soon as it starts it packs away that 3qts of oil to use if the pan runs dry. morosos got them around 300.00 with electric selinoid i just built one with a qt an half capacity for my dohc3.4.

I was asking for two reasons, really. 1.) More oil capacity, obviously. 2.) I beadblasted my pan and there appears to be a never ending supply of beads that keep coming out when I wash it with solvents, and that would be BAAAAAD to suck into a very expensive rebuilt motor. I was looking into replacing it if I could. I like the accumulator idea though, that's pretty cool.
