  • My new intake

Just finished my new intake. It makes the engine sound way different more like a v8 when driving. What are your thoughts?

May be some but I felt nothing realy to big but it sound a whole lot better reving. If you whant to hear what im talking about pull the air box intake elbow on the bottom out and that big gromet. Then go for a drive and you will hear a difference then x5 thats about what it sounds like for me. I think some one who whants to keep the stock box that it would help to use a hole saw and cut some holes in the bottom half and use a K&N filter.

anyone every tried a Intake in the wheel well for a 92 Cutlass? would there be any problems if the car is lowered an inch? Anyone actually every try to rig on into the front, where the direct and cool air is?

i got the tank from a 90s cutlass
as for trying to mount the intake infront of the car, it is more difficult then it is worth. it would take major body/ structural cutting to beable to route a 3" pipe in the front. yes the FWI will work if you lower the car, but i would recomend trying you best to keep the intake as high as possible then to keep water out.

didn't someone make a cylindrical plastic cover for the K&N filter (the one without the taper)? i think they put it in the 97+ W body. Couldn't you fabricate two 2" or 3" tubes from the front of the car and connect it to that? essentially give you a ram intake that was cold?
