ok, i have more time to explain whats going on now.
We have everything roughly layed out here, and of course the engine is way to big for the chassis, heh heh. But it looks doable still at this point. Its looking like we're going to have to flip the alternator backwards and mount it to the frame like on a drag car to get it to clear the body on the passenger side, and we're just going to delete the A/C pump on the drivers side so that the steering column has a place to route through.
The upperfirewall support looks like it'll have to be tilted back a bit, you can see where the tack marks were, from where it was(just above the lower one).
The footwell is going to be eat'n up quite a bit by the slavecylinder, but it still looks driveable at this point (crosses his fingers and kisses his new slim driving shoes)
For the front suspension, i was just going to do a mod'd book plan, but my chassis guy suggested using dirt track ones since they'll mount inboard of the chassis and give a longer upper control arm, and it should already mate up with the s10 spindles.
bonnet clearance with the engine as it sits now looks pretty good, i don't think its going to be sitting as tall as i thought, so i'm not as worried now
hmm, other then that, things are looking pretty good, the rear end should go right togethor sometime this week (note where the rear end is not in the actual position, its just holding up the frame), and after that the front end should start taking shape.
Yeah, you are gonna die. Thats about all I can say...that is a small chassis for this motor in it If you know how tall I can make the intake manifold, let me know. I don't want you to have no visibility:P
The tubing size is not the same spec as every other locost being built, 16SWG 1" RHS, its not like a car where the lower rails are the whole strength of the car, the chassis is made up like a piece of truss with diagonal supports(not fitted yet), so its very strong, but also very light at the same time. Also don't forget the whole car should only weigh around 1400lbs wet.
your harness/ecm/crossover are on the way as well, it has a 93 3.1 mpfi/4t60-e chip in it cause i was too lazy to take that out, i stole it from the junkyard anyway
I refuse to be retarded on this one. Yeah, you don't care about low end but I think kicking it to the ground and stepping on its head isn't a sound way to go about making your death machine. Besides, that intake is best setup for 9k operation.
