  • which s/c setup is better

I?ve been reading about supercharging the 3.4 engines and so far I?ve read 2 setups. Number 1 taking out the ac compressor and putting an s/c there. Number 2 taking an s/c off of a ford thunderbird and putting it on there somehow. I will admit that don?t know anything about this area but that?s why this forum is here. What would be the easiest and cheapest or the best setup? I know that for the first idea it would take a custom bracket, chip and a different MAF sensor. The second idea to be honest I think would be harder then the first idea. Keep in mind that this would be going a completely stock 3.4.

there is some fabricating involved either way, if you can put it in plcae of the compressor go for it, then you wont need an idler pully for that hole. make sure it spins the right directin and you have the belt lined up right. all superchargers just force air in, so you really need to lok at whats out there and see whats what. amybe there is one that will fit bettr. maybe a paxton style would, or the roots type. the paxton kind have the intake and discharges more like a turbo so it would be easier to plumb, no adapeter plates to make.

yes i have a brand new s/c off of a 1993 ford t-bird sc, it has never been used, my idea is to put it in place where the stock air box is, and run a shaft infront of the engine with a gear box to power it. and i will hook it up one day, but the big problem is engine tuning, i cannot afford to get the controls to adjust for boost, so hopfully in about a year i can have it all hooked up and running, i am going to make all the brackets and shafts for it and make sure it bolts up fine and everything, but it wont be operational until i get all the computer and fuel managment figured out.
