They are stiffer, and are oval wound so they are wider but thinner looking from the side. I have no idea what the peak redline is for stock springs so its only guessing from there. Im thinking GM may have used weaker springs to reduce revving on the motor but again, guessing. Im hoping to notice something even going to 7000 like I currently do. I noticed a difference when I took the .060 shims out of the motor so that is why I have spent so much time looking for springs. Gonna get expensive though if I end up finding a few different springs that fit though if I have to test each set out:P

How about some titanium valve spring retainers? What is the I.D. AND O.D of stock spring? found it.
The base of the spring that goes around the guide is 0.841" ID, 1.176" OD. The top of the spring where the cap goes is 0.634" ID, 0.966" OD.

Stockers are actually pretty light so im not sure titanium would serve much importance other than an all out race motor.

I would have thought my first reply would have implied I do not wish to share this information with everyone at this time.

If you absolutely have to know, the information is available at the same place Ben found it. Just do the research he did, and you'll know.

On that note, how goes the testing of the stiffer springs for the DOHC 3.4? I'm starting to build a budget, and would like to know how much these are gonna run

Ive been asking about pricing for over a month now with no answer. Right now they are $15 a pop, but cheaper in bulk obviously. Once I get pricing, ill get a set and throw them on my car. Hopefully ill have my CNC ported heads to throw them on so I can test the springs and the experimental porting at the same time.

The reason im not sharing is because I want to sell them (duh) and if I can't beat the price, ill share the information. The seats will have to be modified from the original application, so I hope to just sell it as a kit and do the modding myself. So, right now it looks like about 385 in parts alone. This is why I am trying to get better pricing:P

That is a nice bit of change, but if it saves a lot of trouble and wasted money on parts that don't fit, it would be worth it. And even if you can't beat the price, you could always sell the modified seats as a kit for those of us that want to use the springs. After all, you're putting all the time and effor into making them fit.

Would a slightly larger spring retainer allow for bigger selection of springs? Wkat is the valve stem diameter and degree of the keepers?

The retainer hasn't been an issue with the springs I have looked for. The coil bind and spring rates are what I look for first and then diameters. So far all the springs with the right coil bind and spring rates have been ok with the dimensions. Valve stem is 7mm, not sure on the keepers.
