  • Heres a cam idea for the DOHC

The exhaust runs about 10 degrees more duration and a little more lift in a DOHC.

Why not run 4 exhaust cams instead of 2 of each? If it will fit and there isnt any other issues, then its an easy increase isnt it?

    I tried a search first.

RE: Heres a cam idea for the DOHC

In other words, your suggesting we replace the intake cams with exhaust cams, correct? (i found your wording slight confusing :P)
Sounds like a good idea to me, then again i know nothing about this engine.

Aside from not wanting to degree the cam to make up for the offset....where do you get that there is 10 degrees more duration?

Intake and exhuast cams have different spacing between the lobes, won't work as far as I can see.

This would be such a clever solution if it worked! I'll take a look at the cams next time I have the engine right-side up to see if it's at all feasible.

              Hey napatiger, check your PMs.

Well after looking at my heads i think i can make it work. Anyone have a spare set of Exhaust side cams they want to donate? Ill dyno before and after.

Lobes look pretty darn close to me. Nothing the lifters would care about. It would be a cool idea.

i have a whole cam carrier complete with intake and exhaust cams still intact. How does $60 shipped sound considering most of the $ will be shipping? If you feel price is high, name it and they are yours including shipping of course. Let me know

Any new info on this. Maybe someone can put the specs in Desktop dyno and see what we might see with this.
