i need some good ideas for a nitrous kit for freshly rebuilt 91 Z-34
it already runs pretty good with 3" exhaust manifolds back, chip from Fast Forward Perf. and intake cams timing changes. Pulls hard from 2200-5300 and we want much more. Some good advice from someone who has installed nos would be nice, thanks in advance guys, great forum, w

      RE: nitrous

You have to give this forum some time. For the most part, if someone doesn't know something here, they won't give you what they think might be right. That is what makes this site good. For the most part (well 99% of the time) the info you get here is accurate. Keep checking back for the next few days, someone with the info you want will respond.

thanks for the answer, i'm impatient have lots of good ideas, but they all relate to chevy small block v-8 this is all new and for the most part pretty fun. my car runs great, but GTP'S are still faster. that must change

          RE: nitrous

Do you plan on adding the wet nitrous before the throttle body? Otherwise I think it is much more expensive to inject in each cylinder.... But I dont really have much experience (disclaimer for being a newbie) and I would hate to give wrong advice and bring down the quality of the site but...
My mechanic friend is using a Zex kit, nice feature of this model ($550) is that it will read tank pressure and calibrate fuel accordingly. It has 75 to 125 hp extra on top of the new built engine that is used in the new GTOs in a ~1968 Camaro. Slick muscle car. I am not sure if it mounted before or after the MAF. That is the kit I will prob get for my 95 Z34

I'll let you know in May. Damn wish I could go to the '05 60 degree meet.

            RE: nitrous

i would suggest going direct port or the nos-zle setup since you have all the $$$ in the motor. if you do use a single nozzle put it behind the tb. i used a single wet nozzle be4 the tb and my rear 3 cylinders were burning hotter than my front 3. it took me a while to diagnose and tune it .

if you plan on using more than a 40hp shot, get an igntion controller

also if u do go to a single nozzle setup, you can get fuel from your stock rail very easily. any more than about 18-22 fuel jet and the fuel pressure demands will be too high(personally i recommend no more than 20).

last thing, there is a nitrous section in this site, you browsed through that?

if you want to know more just ask

That is a very odd power curve, especially for the 3.4L DOHC. Most don't even start pulling until 3500-4000rpm, and my powerband is from 4500-7000. I guess the intake cams did that. I remember a while back, when retarding the exhaust cams was new, they did some work and got it to make all of the low end int he world, but it wouldn't rev past 5 or 5500. Odd.
