  • Valve stem angle

Does anyone know the valve stem angle for the DOHC head (should be a simple angle on the y-axis unlike the splay valve OHV heads)

We have a set of heads from Ben we are setting up to digitize and machine for the PRI show in Indy in Dec and it is easier on setup if I know the factory cast in valve angle.

If you know this info now, could you let me know. It would be useful for setting up my flowbench.

I took a close look, eyed up some LS1 heads, guessed at 11*, ran the probe down the stem - BINGO! 11*, all 4 +11 for 2, -11 for the others

Question (for anyone) does anyone have a cracked, bad, warped, blown DOHC v6 head? we are ready to cut Bens (your) head, but want to practice on junk first so we dont frig it up! If someone has one, email me asap and we will have it picked up monday.

so intake and exhaust is 11 degree angle on the valves for the 3.4 DOHC?

If no one has a bad head, I have another good head you can practice on. Are you going to be flowbenching the heads as well? Someone else mentioned that they though you were to show consistancy between cylinder with your machine but I didn't remember anything about that. If so, that would be cool to know stock and those head flow numbers. Otherwise ill get the numbers later on.

we dont have a becnch, but what we are going to do is take the scan of the first CC, cut the second and then using a wooden probe tip, run the tool pass over both to show it does not 'hang up' and hence are the same.

If no one responds by sunday with a bad one then if you can call that same number to get a 3rd head here we can practice on....any cutting we do at the show we want to be on the 'live' ones......

and yes, the in and ex valve angles are 11* each, tipped 'away' from the CC centerline.
