  • AEM V2 Cold Air Intake

How in the hell does an air intake on a stock honda make 20 more hp. Is it the huge amount of money put into R&D or someone just sticking a number on a chart just to make more money. I wish they made an intake for my car. If they did I would make (guess) 25-30 more hp on just the intake.

You will be lucky if you get 5hp with a new intake.

They are probably bullshitting everyone. But the short-ram intakes are supposed to be really good for the Hondas. Anyway, go to ebay and look up intake power. They sell intake packages for the 3.4DOHC. I got mine for $25 + shipping. Very good quality too, and come with the gromets and holes for the IAT and PCV (I think?) line.

I didn't read it fully, a CAI will net way more gains than a warm air intake. You can just take some tubing of any kind to route the intake to the fender well, or wherever you can get cold air, and get huge gains. You can even use the stock air box with a drop-in and jusr route that intake to cold air and get gains. My friend did that on his old Ford car (forget what it was) and the difference was amazing. Just used some $3 vacuum tubing from Home Depot or Orchard Supply, or somewhere like that.

just to clarify with you guys about cold/warm air intakes...a short ram/warm air intake is just fine too.

if you have one and can scan intake air temps through your computer youd notice something interesting. when driving, with a warm air intake, the air temp goes down to 2-3 degrees above outside air temperature.

only when at a light or stopped is the air going in warm air.
