F355 sounds a bit too much like a race bike...

I think my car is a little to...ummm...I guess the term would be "big boned" for a sound that you would expect to come out of something small, like a fiero.

Im going for a not so loud yet deep sound...which it hard to do without it being farty...but I have a few things to try...maybe dual 50 series...or maybe a single 50 or 80s series...or something else

oh and Galen, its cool that you prefer a 3 inch and all, but why be such a dick about it?

2.25 inch is what I am going with all the way back single pipe single muffler. Magnaflow turbo or something of that sort.
if you want to be safe, Ide still say go to a 2 1/2 to 2 1/4 at the Y pipe...since it was the only setup to show any gains.

Actually after hearing the F355 and watching a movie of a Z34 simultaneously... i decided its definately not right... I have been debating going with a fiero tho... The best exhaust i've heard so far is on a Fiero and i dont know what kind of exhaust it is but he lets it bounce off the rev limiter, its a red Fiero and the movie is of the back of the car while he hand revs it. I loooove that sound, dirty and mean... Sure the car SHOULD sound sophisticated and deep... but i prefer that fiero's exhaust sound... *drool*

Screw sophistication. If i wanted sophisticated I'd buy an Audi S4 with the 4.2L V8... come to think of it... when I win the lottery, that's the first thing on my shopping list.

Give it to me bearing its fangs and growling like a fucking lion.

lol go look in the maintenance section of DOHC and then the fiero guy says "does this sound too cammy" or something, and then he links to a thread on the fiero forums, and there are about 8 videos of exhaust in that thread.

Flowmaster doesn't make catalytic converters. I'd go with Magnaflow or CarSound. Look them up on ebay, that's where I bought mine. Brand new, US$50 + shipping.

I had 40's, and I think the Magnaflows sound better. The design is better too; Magnaflows can't blow out or break plates like Flowmasters, because there are no plates. If you run your LQ1 above 7000RPM too often you'll blow plates, that's what happened to one of mine.
