what do you suppose wayy worth it means in term of horsepower gained?
3.4 DOHC- 95 engine, custom intake manifold, custom cams, ported exhaust manifolds, Turbonetics T-62, Haltech standalone, 13.5 psi, air/h20 intercooler... yadda yadda...
1987 Fiero, ST lowering springs, KYB's, Clutchnet dual diaphragm 6-puck, custom paint, 18's with falken fk452 225 front Nitto NT05 245 rear. Should be around 450whp...

I have no idea what kind of gains I got from the work I did to my own heads, but its something im happy with considering the exhaust manifolds are still on there and the intakes aren't ported how I want. Head porting price depends on what is done really. Send me a PM and we can talk about what setup you are looking for with the car. I don't do porting in "stages" or just 1 way of doing it so its important to know some of the details.

what do you think would be better to do first:

1)try and get a set of cams reground to the the w41? specs

            or

            2)get the heads ported

note:the motor is laying in pieces in my basement and wont be going in for a while.this is just to see which i should get if one wont be available sometime soon

The cam timing might hurt your low end more than you care for. Hard to say, but your car will need to be tuned for that kind of cam work. Head work also needs tuning but I know for a fact that head work works good with stock tuning without causing major issues. The cams may not cause too many problems either but even doing 13 degree retard on the exhaust throws it off since the power curve is completely changed instead of helped through increased airflow/efficiency.

Heads are harder to pull once its back together as well, so it would be easier to do cams later.

What vehicle is this, auto or manual?

You wont have to worry about low end so much then. No one has tried the cams so its hard to say what they are going to do exactly but low end is definetly gonna be hurt.
