I have gotten a xbb id 4t65hd (which has a 3.29 FDR) from a 00 regal, so I will be swapping in my 97 3.4 Dohc motor (which has the SLR cams and ported heads and intakes), wiring harness, ecu, and 4t65hd trans this weekend or next depending on the temperature outside

The max RPM I shift at is 6650 on a regular pass... The commanded is lower to account for the delay but I believe 2-3rd is set for 6500 it's been a while.

The stock 4T60e that came with the TDC was a 3.43 final drive... the only one GM ever shipped that way.

An HD with a 3.29? Those must be rare... most were 2.93 in GPs.

00 gps had an option for 2.93 FDR and 3.29. Option code for 2.93 was XAB option cod for 3.29 was XBB

My stock 4T60-E went a HARD 134,000 miles before letting go on me. then built with rebestos clutches, updated Sprags, 3000RPM Stall (Custom from local converter shop) based upon Modified's suggestions on the trans. ran great, shifted great and help the power very well.

Interesting build. TimG and myself went turbo, must say I loved that motor with boost. 331HP to the wheels ~7-8psi

I ran the one in the GP that I'm buying from Ben to about 8k last summer, but it's balanced for that and has upgraded springs and forged rods. It started to trail off there, but it's also got a stock 96 intake, N* tb and the 13* timing.

                          How much money you got?

Someone back in the day was regularly hitting 7.5k and I know other stuff broke but don't think the engine ever did. Also know of one over-rev incident that caused a bunch of cracked lifters, I assume from valve/lifter float and the cam lobe slamming into the lifter.

Ported and rebuilt heads. Gasket matched the heads and lower intake the other night. Getting ready for install with the HD trans next weekend

I got the motor in and the car running but the trans I bought had a bad 3rd gear shift solenoid. So I just got a built HD trans today. Its got a hardened input shaft, upgraded pump shaft, 7/8 single chain, blue line clutches hardened 4th gear shaft. It is a chris harmon stage 2 built trans. I just have to put my diff in it and put my stall converter in with it. I will be doing the trans swap this weekend. Other than that I just have some little wiring things to figure out with the cooling fans after the 97 wiring harness swap (for the 4t65 trans). The motor runs amazingly well
