  • New 1320 time!

Well I just got back from Peublo, after 12 runs at PMI. It was a good night, ok traction(for this shitty track), low temps, etc.

Here is the slip from my best run:

    R/T__________________.713
    60'__________________2.399
    330__________________5.299
    1/8__________________9.857
    MPH__________________72.12
    1000_________________12.789
    1/4_________________15.257
    MPH_________________90.85

That was my best. It is not possible for this car to get better. I tried the same basic laungh for 9/12 runs, leaving the last 3 to be experimental(all of which SUCKED.) I was really getting hurt off the 60', I just couldn't grip. But oh well, no excuses. I ran well, and did about what expected. My goal was a flat 15, but I was expecting 15.5s, so I am happy. A guy there had a GPS thingy and these altitude correction things, and he figured a 13.83 @ 97.21. THis I think is low, I have trouble believing I could break the 14s, but at a better track maybe. I would like to get to Bandimere, an official NHRA track with real altitude corrections, soon. My closest competition came from a 350z drop top 6-speed, who's best time was a 15.302. btw, I have a slip of me beating a stock LT1 6-speed by a little under a half second, he ran a 15.72.

14.52@94.99 is what I calculated it to be. I thought you would have gained more with headers.

he did, look at his 60 footer! Horrible! Now all he needs to do is buy a set of TGP crosslace wheels and stick some 245 drag radials or just some good sticky 245's on that bitch and BOOM, he'll be hooking like a mofo!

I'm comparing MPH to MPH here... he only gained a hair over 2mph... that seems low.

Wouldn't really light (BBS-like) 15's with 265's be better? If you didn't turn the wheel I'm sure they'd fit.

However using drag-radials is nie for a strip, but what about on the street?

Drag radials won't help my car any, they will hurt it. It needs some tire spin, but there was too much there.

Dyk remember, I was hooking up a lot better in MO and it is a better track all around. Here, all I would do is roll back on the line, it was a bitch to stay staged.

Also altitude adjustments are different for 4 valve vs 2 valve heads. His correction took into account a lot, including the vacuum the car was pulling, intake runner D and length, redline, tire size, FWD vs RWD, etc.

What 60' time did you cut in MO?

You are saying that "some guys" altitude thing-a-ma-bob is more accurate than NHRA's #s? Yeah, sure...

Well it took us 20min to enter all the info, so it takes more into account.

I ran low 2.3s in MO.

I ran a 2.33 at the meet this past weekend. It suprized me because I went around the burnout box on that run.

I never go through the water pit and never burnout. But I do run in the groove, which helps a lot.

Yeah, I don't like to make big clouds of smoke ($200 a tire), so I don't light them up much, so I think when I do burnout, it's not getting all of the water off, hurting my times.

You know, I was curious to know what your car is laying down to the ground Aaron. You should have it dynoed soon. Then dyno it after your TB project and see what you gained...

Yah I hope to get together with Shane and or TimG for a run at dynopros soon.

I know I'm above 200fwhp, and I'm hoping for 220 to the wheels
