  • Oil Pressure at the lash adjusters?

What is the factory oil pressure in the valve lash adjuster galleries? Is it simply the regulated oil pressure from the pump? Or is it regulated down even further?

    Thanks in Advance,

It is bypassed to run at a set volume and pressure by way of a bypass valve. At least I think it is.

what is your idle pressure, at 2k, at 3k and so on.

I need the info for a non-stock application. I'm looking for the volume and pressure numbers so that I can set up a regulator to oil the lifetrs/lash adjusters externally.

wouldn't it be same as engine oil pressure is in hydralic lifters you need the volumne to conpensate for the larger area around the adjusters wouldn't this make sense since lifters are half the size with about the same clearence

A number of OHC and DOHC applications are pressure-limited to prevent lifter pump and susequent cam damage. They are different than hydraulic lifters in pushrod applicaitons. The volume (flow rate) is not as critical as the pressure.

I suppose I can try to get a gauge onto a running engine of no one can come up with the data.
