  • Phenolic Plenum to Lower intake Manifold Spacer-3.

This is a Phenolic Spacer that goes between the Plenum (Upper intake manifold) and the Lower intake manifold. The goal of this spacer is to keep the heat from soaking into the intake air from the engine. The IAT's with the Plenum run around 150 degrees, this spacer drops the IATs to 100

Neat idea. Do those act as gaskets or will you need a gasket on both sides of the spacer?

where did you put the iat to get those readings? 50% efficiency from that thin of a piece, plus coolant still flowing through the throttle body leaves me scratching my head. What was the ambient temp?

        We used a digital thermometer.

Yes, its just a barrier item to keep the head from heating the intake manifold.

I'm with Ben on this. It may keep the temps low for a bit longer than normal after startup but the coolant going through the throttle body will still heat soak the intake and you'll be right back where you started. You could bypass the throttle body line....

Did you measure after startup or a long cruise?? was the throttle coolant line bypassed?
