Some type of milling machine would do the trick. RSM claims 70mm now, they used to claim 72mm, what gives? Oh well, I'll buy yours anyday.

The problem is the angle of the TB compared to the rest of the plenum. For a normal TB, you can square it up easily but with ours you can't really do it without making something else to hold the rest of the plenum at the angle and the TB square. Im not worried about this prototype though unless it fails on the car.

True but most decent milling machines have a fully adjustable bed. So you could bolt it flange down, then move it exactly where you want it. I just thinking what if one day you are hung right over and slip while you were hand porting. That would suck. Anyway I'm done this pointless gabbing.

Well I have gotten the TB, but have not put it on yet. Ben is right, the flash makes the gaps look way worse then they really are. Another thing I noticed is the butterfly on a stock TB has a hole in it for airflow at idle (I assume it's idle because that is the only time I can think of that it would do anything). Then new butterfly has no hole for airflow at idle, and the gaps are not that bad around the outside, so I think it will be just fine. In fact, I think the area of the gaps will not equal the hole in a stock TB, so the IAC might have to do more work to let air in at idle, and if it can not compensate for it, I guess I will just have to turn the screw you aren't supposed to turn to open it up some, lol. That or drill a hole in the butterfly, but I will pass on that, thank you.

It failed on the car the first time, so we cut the front of the shaft off since these plates are thinner and the gap was letting more air past. Jon hasn't tried it again yet but either way I am planning on getting some filler and then slowly grinding it down again. I got another use for that filler later on anyway

Yeah, 4000 may be just off idle for some people, but I like my idle at 800 more then I do 1500, lol.
