    it happens, you could probably sell it on the quad 4 forums. Those guys like those gear sets for some reason..lol

    The rebuilt 284 should be fine, as long as the diff bearings are shimmed correctly it'll hold about anything you can throw at it.
    Past Builds;
    1991 Z24, 3500/5 Spd. 275WHP/259WTQ 13.07@108 MPH
    1989 Camaro RS, ITB-3500/700R4. 263WHP/263WTQ 13.52@99.2 MPH
    Current Project;
    1972 Nova 12.73@105.7 MPH

          lol yah, i had a 3XTX on my cammed 3500. It had the 3.5 1st, good 4th, .84 5th and the 3.94 diff. 1st gear was completely useless and highway driving was miserable, 3500 RPM @ 65 MPH in 5th. My best time with that trans was a 13.7, once i want back to the stock V6 trans i shaved that down to a 13.07 with the same trap speeds and better 60' times.

          I found 9 listed in the entire united states on car-parts.com. Some weren't too bad on price either...
